Forum Introduction

The Iranian Green Management Association is a non-profit and non-governmental organization (SMAN) registered with the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines and managed by a board of directors elected by legal members with a business card, based on a specific statute.

This association is a companion and partner of production and service organizations to provide superior products and services based on green knowledge.

With the beginning of the fifth wave of economic and social developments and the role of “knowledge” in wealth creation and its impact on the speed of production and response to created demands, which was generally derived from a customer-oriented culture and practically managed to respond to the thirst for consumption in society, it has presented new challenges to organizations that were practically derived from the consequences and environmental effects of the performance of the processes and products that the organization left behind, and all of these cases imposed new costs on the consumer society.

The customer-centric and quality-oriented approach that the Japanese invented led to economic growth and the provision of quality products to society, and on the surface, it also achieved satisfied customers, but in reality, the result of these seemingly attractive approaches is a polluted society that does not have a stable future.

In this regard, a group of scientists and organizational and academic intellectuals in our country established a non-profit and non-governmental organization in the country in 2006 to provide a new solution to the challenges of today and tomorrow of the organization. With the membership of government, private and public organizations in it and by creating synergy, a comprehensive approach to overcome modern organizational challenges can be created and given to the modern world.

Green knowledge refers to knowledge that explains its assumptions and theories based on overcoming the conflict between economic growth and environmental crisis. In this regard, green knowledge in the framework of the organizational management system means: knowledge of managing the intersection of economy and environment.

Since every economic action depends on the consumption of resources and every environmental pollution depends on the consumption of resources in the organization, green knowledge seeks to identify indicators and criteria that the organization’s management system can use to manage resources, while protecting economic growth, and to control the amount of environmental pollution that is always caused by resource consumption. Green knowledge, by going beyond quality knowledge (based on customer satisfaction, increasing market share, success, competition, profitability, product diversity, and consumerism, introduces management indicators) provides distinctive indicators and criteria for the organizational management system.

The green knowledge management model, in line with the results-oriented organizational excellence models, introduces green results-oriented management, and presents management indicators and criteria to the organization to identify the relationship between the type and consumption of resources and the type and amount of environmental pollution. Ultimately, organizational innovation and improvements lead to a reduction in production, operation, and staff costs on the one hand and a reduction in environmental pollution on the other. As a result, it confronts the organization with modern concepts such as: green intelligence, green accounting, and green competition.
The Iranian Green Management Association is the most reputable scientific and professional non-governmental organization of green management in the country and the region, which works to develop green knowledge in production and service organizations.

Providing green management expert services to organizations in the country and the region with the aim of creating sustainability in the business environment is done through green knowledge.

During the formation of the Iranian Sustainable Building Council, important changes have been achieved in the trends and demands related to sustainable environmental construction in the ecosystem. The implementation and application of green building policies and regulations has encouraged us to adopt a robust assessment system by adding knowledge, awareness, and information and sharing it in the construction environment in the implementation of buildings and communications in this field.

In order to advance its organizational goals, this council regularly reviews its vision, mission, and actions to receive new and updated requirements from its members and apply them for the benefit of society.
